Could you save by buying medication online?
Sometimes the prescription fee wipes out the saving. Sometimes it doesn't. Check before you ask your vet.

How to get a written prescription
- 1 Ask your vet for a written prescription at your next consultation. They must agree — it's your legal right.
- 2 They can charge a fee (maximum £21 for the first medicine, £12.50 for additional medicines from the same consultation).
- 3 Order from an accredited online pharmacy (look for the VMD logo). Delivery is usually 1–3 days.
- 4 Some prescriptions cover up to 6 months, which spreads the fee further and increases savings.
